What does it mean to partner with Providence Bible Church?
When an individual is saved, they become a member of the body of Christ, also known as the Universal Church (1 Cor. 12:13, Rom. 12:5). But in the New Testament you also see individuals partner with a local body of believers to serve and obey God. This is important for all believers, because we are commanded to:
Receive instruction from God’s Word (1 Tim. 4:13; 2 Tim. 4:2)
To serve and edify one another (Rom. 12:3-8; 1 Cor. 12:4-31; 1 Pet. 4:10-11)
To participate in communion (Luke 22:19; Acts 2:38-42)
To proclaim the gospel to those who are lost (Matt. 28:18-20)
Additionally, we are called to hold one another accountable and to submit to biblical authority in the body (Heb. 13:17; 1 Cor. 5:1-13; Matt. 18:17). When one becomes a part of a church, they submit to the care and the authority of the elders that God has placed in that congregation.
