What is the preaching like?

The Bible is the very Word of God and is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and for training in righteousness; this is why it’s our focus each week and in each sermon.

Sermons are 40-45 minutes of expository preaching. We walk through the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, and we strive to make the meaning of the passage the message of the sermon.

What is the music like?

Music is a beautiful gift from God, allowing us to combine doctrine and devotion as we glorify our Savior as a congregation.

Each week we pair classic hymns of the faith with more contemporary songs proclaiming God-honoring lyrics. One week might have a more traditional feel with just vocalists and a piano, while the next has a full band.

What do you have for children?

We provide nursery services during the 9 a.m. Sunday School hour and the 10:15 a.m. Worship Service.

Providence Kids (Pre-K - 5th grade) meet during the 9 a.m. Sunday School hour.

During the 10:15 Worship Service, we also offer Children’s Church (Pre-K - 2nd grade). Children planning to attend Children’s Church sit with their families during the first part of the service and are dismissed before the sermon begins.

Other frequently asked questions

  • We’re excited that you want to take that extra step to get to know our church family better!

    • Each Sunday we have a Welcome Table at the entrance and a Connect Table at the back of the gym. There you can meet with one of our elders or pastors.

    • We have a seasonal Newcomer’s Dinner where you can meet our pastors and their families, ask any questions you may have, and connect with other Providence families. We’d love for you to join us!

    • Throughout the year we have a Sunday School class for newcomers called Providence Connect. This class helps you learn more about Providence, what we teach, and how you can partner with us in ministry through membership.

    • You can also fill out our online connect form and one of our elders will reach out to you directly to answer any questions you may have.

  • When an individual is saved, they become a member of the body of Christ, also known as the Universal Church (1 Cor. 12:13, Rom. 12:5). But in the New Testament you also see individuals partner with a local body of believers to serve and obey God. This is important for all believers, because we are commanded to:

    • Receive instruction from God’s Word (1 Tim. 4:13; 2 Tim. 4:2)

    • To serve and edify one another (Rom. 12:3-8; 1 Cor. 12:4-31; 1 Pet. 4:10-11)

    • To participate in communion (Luke 22:19; Acts 2:38-42)

    • To proclaim the gospel to those who are lost (Matt. 28:18-20)

Additionally, we are called to hold one another accountable and to submit to biblical authority in the body (Heb. 13:17; 1 Cor. 5:1-13; Matt. 18:17). When one becomes a part of a church, they submit to the care and the authority of the elders that God has placed in that congregation.

To partner in ministry as a member of Providence Bible Church, please fill out our membership application. Then, an elder will reach out to you with more information.
